Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-04-30.
By using baseline you agree to these terms. If you don't, don't use the service.
1. What baseline is
baseline reads your running activity data (from Strava) and gives you coaching feedback — patterns it spots, today's recommended session, and a small set of insights about how you're training. It's a coaching app, not a medical service.
baseline is operated from Belgium, contactable at hello@trybaseline.coach.
2. baseline is not medical advice
This is the most important paragraph in this document. Read it.
baseline does not give you medical, physiotherapy, cardiology, or nutritional advice. It does not diagnose injuries, illness, or any condition. It does not detect heart-rate problems or overtraining syndrome.
baseline gives you training advice — the kind of feedback a running coach with a clipboard might give. If you have a medical condition, an injury, chest pain, dizziness, unusual heart rhythms, or anything else that worries you, talk to a doctor.
You are responsible for deciding whether any given run is safe for you to attempt.
3. Your account
- You sign in with your email and a single-use magic link. There's no password.
- You're responsible for keeping access to your inbox — anyone with access to your email can sign in.
- One person, one account. Don't share your account.
- baseline is not for users under 16.
4. Your data
How baseline handles your data is in the Privacy Notice. In short: we collect what's needed to coach you, store it on EU servers, and you can delete your account at any time.
When you connect Strava, you authorise baseline to read activity data on your behalf. You can revoke that at any time from Settings → Integrations.
5. Acceptable use
Don't:
- Try to reverse-engineer, attack, or DOS the service.
- Scrape baseline's responses or insights.
- Sign up multiple accounts to dodge a cap or rate limit.
- Use baseline's email-sending capacity for anything other than signing in to your own account.
If you do, we may suspend or close your account. We'll email you first if there's a reasonable middle ground.
6. Service availability
baseline is in active development. We don't promise an uptime percentage. We aim for "available most of the time during normal hours."
We may change features, copy, or pricing without notice. Material changes — anything that affects what you can do or what we do with your data — get an email.
7. Pricing
baseline is currently in beta and free to use. When we add paid plans:
- Existing users get clear notice (at least 30 days) before any paid tier kicks in.
- You can opt out by deleting your account; we'll never bill you without an explicit click.
- Pricing in EUR.
These terms will be updated when paid plans land.
8. Intellectual property
- Your activity data is yours. baseline holds it under licence to provide the service. You can export it from Settings or delete it.
- baseline's software, brand, copy, design system, and the coaching framings + patterns are operator-owned. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service.
- Insights baseline writes about your training are yours to keep. Posting a screenshot to social media is fine.
9. Liability
baseline is provided "as is". To the extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for:
- Decisions you make based on baseline's coaching output.
- Outages, data loss, or sync delays.
- Indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.
If a court finds the operator liable, the cap is the total amount you've paid baseline in the 12 months before the claim, or €100, whichever is greater.
This clause does not limit liability that can't legally be limited under Belgian / EU consumer law (e.g. for fraud, gross negligence, or death/personal injury caused by the operator's actions).
10. Termination
You can terminate any time by deleting your account from Settings.
We can terminate your account if:
- You breach these terms (Section 5).
- A regulator orders us to.
- We shut the service down. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice by email plus a final data export.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium. Disputes that can't be resolved by email go to the competent courts of Belgium, unless EU consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
12. Changes
We'll email you if we materially change these terms. Cosmetic edits don't trigger a notice; material changes do.
If you don't agree with the new terms, you can delete your account before they take effect.
